Hi friends 👋,
Greetings from Charlotte, NC, and welcome to the first edition of my digital postcards. I’m affectionately calling them Bulut Points.
With every edition, my goal is to expose you to a corner of the internet worthy of your attention. Every Monday going forward, I’ll share a few things that I found most interesting, exciting, or useful with you.
I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think in the comments.
BULUT POINTS
Elements of Amazon’s Day 1 Culture: In honor of the first edition of Bulut Points, here is an excellent explanation of Jeff Bezos’s Day 1 mindset and how its principles get systematically implemented at Amazon. The idea in a nutshell: Starting a new adventure is always fun and exciting on Day 1, yet these feelings inevitably dim over time. To keep the vitality of our effort, we must treat each day as if it’s Day 1, every day. We must take on the work anew, leaving all the judgment, failures, or successes of the past, in the past. We must focus on the here and now and the endless possibilities today offers.
Writing Handbook, by Julian Shapiro: Julian’s handbook provides a clear and compelling blueprint for anyone who wants to improve their writing, especially nonfiction either in short- or long-form. I love how he breaks down the process of writing a piece step-by-step. Couple it with David Perrel’s The Ultimate Guide to Writing Online and you’ve got everything you need to start writing compelling essays. I, for one, intend to experiment with combining the two into a process I can follow on a consistent basis.
Signs of Emotional Maturity, by the School of Life: I stumbled upon this article years ago. It hit me like a ton of bricks the first time I read it and quickly became one of the most frequently revisited articles in my Evernote. It’s full of statements that ring true, and sometimes painfully so.

Day 1 culture reminds me of Ted Lasso - "be a goldfish" :)
Thank you for sharing these! It's cool to read both what you find interesting and the resources that you are applying/using.
