Introducing Traveling Clouds

And some life updates from me, short and sweet

Hi friends,

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me. Wow, in fact it’s been so long that I feel a combination of awe, gratitude, and some overwhelm when I pause to think about how much happened between my last post and now. Just to update you on a few big ones:

• Leslie and I had our wedding! It was a truly magical gathering with so many of our loved ones.

• We went to a 10-day silent meditation course together (Leslie’s first, my second).

• I led two big AI projects at work to take them from zero to one (one for Bankrate.com and another for The Points Guy). It was hard work, but so much fun to do both with amazing teammates.

• I quit my job. So did Leslie, and we sold or donated almost everything we owned to travel the world for eight months.

• I participated in a month-long residential storytelling course with Shonaleigh in Wales. It was, in one word, extraordinary.

• After the course, Leslie and I met up in London and kicked off our long-term travels.

I’m writing to let you know that we launched a new Substack to share our travel experiences and reflections. It’s called “Traveling Clouds” (Bulut means cloud in Turkish + Leslie and I share the same last name Bulut now + we’re traveling → Traveling Clouds. Did we overthink this? 100%).

I’m going to keep Bulut Points live. I intend to write more as I reflect on a lot of things in the upcoming months. The posts relating to our travels and our joint reflections will be on “Traveling Clouds.” My individual pieces will be on Bulut Points.
